3.6 million pounds available for technology development

NIHR Devices for Dignity HTC is collaborating to launch a new Small Business Research Initiative competition to find innovative technology-based solutions in Kidney Care.

The Department of Health  has requested proposals that cover kidney disease; prevention, rapid diagnosis, improving the independence of patients or enabling patients to be cared for closer to home.

Solutions could be applicable for use in the home, community or secondary care. Applications would be sought that are applicable to individuals, such as patients and their carers, and/or NHS services.

It is expected that eight to twelve SMEs will receive a cut of £3.6 million for their contribution.
