Life Science Enterprise Growth Manager

Help create new jobs and drive local economic growth.

Salary: £50,000

If you have a science/business park, inward investment or business development background, ideally gained in health or life sciences, and are looking for a brand new challenge, you're in the right place.

The Central Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is a leading integrated health, teaching, research and innovation campus in the thriving city of Manchester. Recently, we were awarded Enterprise Zone status as part of The Corridor Manchester Enterprise Zone (EZ). A flagship initiative providing businesses with a unique set of incentives to support their growth and success, Corridor Manchester is also a key focus for the Greater Manchester Local Enterprise Partnership’s ambitions to generate new high value jobs and private sector led economic investment.

Put simply, this exciting new initiative presents a great opportunity to genuinely enhance the profile and drive the economic growth of the Corridor Manchester Innovation District. We want you to play a leading role in doing just that.

You will be based in Citylabs 1.0; a bio-health innovation centre on the hospital campus and at the heart of a large and growing cluster of medical technology and ICT companies. There, you’ll provide the leadership and expertise it takes to accelerate the growth of the Corridor EZ. Each day, you will be proactively driving inward investment, innovation and entrepreneurial activity in order to promote business growth. We’ll also rely on you to manage the implementation and administration of the EZ and maximise each marketing and promotion opportunity.

To be a success, you’ll need to be a visible and effective ambassador who is used to championing the Corridor Enterprise Zone. We’ll also be looking for experience in managing active events and networking programmes, ideally in Life Sciences. A masters or equivalent level education in an appropriate discipline is essential too, as are strong analytical and problem solving skills and excellent judgment. Commercially aware, compassionate and proud of everything you do, you will also bring the credibility and confidence it takes to develop and manage partnerships with external organisations and companies alike.

For further details or to arrange an informal visit, contact: Keith Chantler or Kay Callaghan.

Closing date: 11 October 2017.

Please note: Interviews are forecast to take place at the end of October and the post-holder is expected to commence employment at the beginning of January.
